My brother Sam, owned and operated Lamont 5 & 10,
for 20 years.
On April 4, 1968, Dr.Martin Luther King’s assassination
triggered the DC 68 riot,at which time my brother’s
store was completely looted. He never reopened.
As observed, all DC area 5 and 10′s closed their doors.
